Poly Reduction Tool C4d Introduction

If have been asked by 2 people now if they could have a low poly version of my Pool Table model. Is there anyway that I can convert the existing model into a low poly model without having to model it again? Also does anyone know how to export.obj files from Cinema 4D 10? I’ve looked through all the menus and can’t find the option for this.Don’t know how to reduce it in Cinema, but if you will not find the way I can do it for you in MAX, and then export to OBJ. Just tell me how many% I need to reduce. I can do several different options for each of your models, of course. You can give me models in OBJ format, to preserve UV mapping. But you need to remember, if you do such operation you can’t keep nice polygonal structure you maybe have in high poly. So this way don’t be used for characters that need to be rigged in future. You may try to reduce poly count by hand, but it sometimes much work. Here is link to something seems to be export/import OBJ plugin for Cinema.

It's for use in a game. The members that have asked about it both use Unity 3D.

Are you familiar with this program? Could you give me a rough number of polys my pool table should be for use in a game?I have Unity installed This game engine eats FBX file format, not OBJ.Gm Number of polygons Ok, its depend on game type. FPS (First Person Shooters) usually has models with highest polygons numbers. For instance, characters in best shooters can have 1000 polygons (not triangles!)But when we are speaking of RTS (real time strategy) like games, that must run thousands of soldiers at the same moment, character models must be 250 - 500 polygons maximum.

The same true for I-phone like games. So, you see, even when we are speaking about low poly models, it can have very very different polygons number. Not all my low poly models fit every video game type. “Azazel” or “Assassin”, for instance can be used in shooters or in RPG (role play games) maybe. “Infantry Soldier” was done for RTS like games. So you seeIf you have a specific customer, better you ask him, what he means by “low poly model” and what type of game he makes. Hey guys, i have a practical solution but for MAX.if you have max installed, you can download this plugin: preserves UVWs,and as i found,it proved to be quite useful:+It can reduce polygons to the desired number.+VERY easy to use.+It exports models to the.Obj format.@ WildeMedia, i can help you in reducing the polygon count.I have MAX and Cinema 4D (r11.) installed,so i can check if everything works. If you are interested, you can contact me via my denCheers everyone!!

To export as.obj go to FileExportWavefrontSecond, there is no like “generic” method in CINEMA to make low-poly out of high-poly.The best way is to model it manually, but also you can try by applying “Polygon Reduction” Deformation. (ObjectDeformationPolygon Reduction)Place it so that the object you want to change to low poly is a parent. Then select the object and go to FunctionCurrent state to object. The problem with this method is that it creates triangles, and that’s something you want to avoid.
